About & privacy.
The short, honest version — because a skin editor shouldn’t need a law degree to use.
What /skin is
A free Minecraft skin editor that runs entirely in your browser. Paint on a live 3D model, edit the 64×64 texture directly, start from any player’s public skin, or let AI draft a base you refine by hand. No download, no account, no payment.
Your skins stay with you
Everything you paint lives in your browser’s local storage on your own device — autosaves, your skin’s name, recent player lookups, and your AI generation history. We don’t have accounts, so we couldn’t store your skins on a server even if we wanted to. Clearing your browser data clears your work; export your PNG to keep it safe.
The skin you create is yours. Do whatever you want with it.
What leaves your browser
Three things, only when you use them:
- AI prompts. When you generate a skin, your prompt is sent to our AI provider to produce the image. Your IP address is used to count the free daily generations (3 per day) and for nothing else.
- Player lookups. Usernames you search are used to fetch that player’s public skin from public Minecraft APIs.
- Anonymous analytics. We count page views with cookieless analytics so we know if anyone’s out there. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no ads, no selling anything to anyone.
AI credits & license
AI skin drafts are generated with the open-source Minecraft Skin Generator (SDXL) by Monadical, used under its OpenRAIL license. Big thanks to them for open-sourcing it.
That license carries use restrictions which extend to generated output: no using generations to break laws, harm or impersonate people, or produce harmful content. Generate in good faith and you’ll never notice these exist. AI output is a first draft and may resemble other generations — make it yours in the editor.
